What exactly is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

So, what exactly is hormone replacement therapy, and how can it help? Well, to start at Unique Health we identify hormonal imbalances and develop a targeted therapy plan that aligns with your health goals. This may involve boosting testosterone levels for men or balancing estrogen and progesterone for women, and ultimately your treatment plan may include other components such as lifestyle changes or other vitamins or supplements. If you decide that hormone replacement therapy is the right fit for you, we work directly with a highly reputed bioidentical hormone provider, Biote, for our hormone pellets. These tiny pellets are inserted under the skin by our expert nurse practitioner, and offer slow time-released hormones that are identical to the hormones already circulating in your body. Balancing hormones in this way is safe, is customized to your specific needs, and can offer lasting relief for symptoms that can come from imbalances, including libido issues, fatigue, stubborn weight gain, hot flashes for women, and so much more. Curious how hormone replacement therapy might be able to help you? Give us a call today!

Got Hormone Replacement Questions? We Have Answers.

  • What is Pellet Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Pellet Hormone Therapy, or bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, is a medical procedure where small pellets of hormones bioidentical to those already in your body are inserted under the skin. These hormones help  regulate the amounts of, or replace, those that are occuring naturally in your body. This therapy helps correct hormonal imbalances and is customized to the patient's needs.

  • Is hormone replacement therapy safe?

Yes. The hormones we use are plant based and bioidentical to those in your body, making bioidentical hormone replacement therapy a very safe practice.

  • Can you use bioidentical hormone replacement therapy with other supplements or therapies?

Yes! We often use therapies like hormone replacement pellet therapy, supplements, and IV hydration together, however this ultimately depends on your specific health situation. We discuss any concerns that you have regarding this at your consultation, prior to you receiving any hormones or other treatments.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Because you and your health are our #1 priority, we do not work with insurance providers. Through our decades of experience, we unfortunately have found that insurance often dictates treatments and treatment options, and that often does not correlate with what is truly best for the health of the patient. By not accepting insurance, we are able to spend more time with you and less time on the phone with insurance providers, allowing us to charge LESS for our services and provide more personalized, thoughtful care to you.

  • Do you do labwork?

    We do!

  • What will my first appointment be like?

At your first appointment, our Nurse Practitioner will get a full medical and lifestyle history and do a physical exam. We will also obtain labwork to get some baseline values for where we are starting, and plan to go through your labwork together when the results are back (usually about 2 weeks). From there, we formulate your customized treatment plan based on your needs and health goals.

  • I currently take medications. Can I receive hormone replacement therapy?

We always recommend speaking with your primary care physician or pharmacist regarding any medications you are currently taking to make sure that the therapies we use will not interfere with their benefits.
